CONTEST WINNERS ANNOUNCED!!!

The results are in! After reviewing all the entries with my family, and seeing the wonderful babies that you all are putting all your heart and souls into, I have decided that I cannot pick just one. There will be TWO winners to my prototype contest!

My decision was based on who I thought would produce the look that I want this specific kit to have, as well as who presented the most professional and natural appearance, as far as coloring, posing the baby and photographing the doll. The contest was open to ALL reborners who wished to enter, regardless of experience or location.

I believe that as doll artists, we need to strive for just the right balance of all these elements in order to make a successful doll that melts the hearts of collectors. Although there were multiple entrants whose work I thought possessed all these qualities, I had to keep the look of this doll in mind when narrowing down my choices. It was a difficult decision to make.

So, with that being said, The winners are:

A huge THANK YOU to all who participated in the contest! I really appreciate the overwhelming response from reborn artists around the globe. I may contact some of you for future projects, now that I am aware of your work. If you are going to IDEX, please come on over and introduce yourself and see the new baby!

I cant wait to get started working with these 2 artists and getting to know them. They both produce stellar babies. Watch for photos at the end of January!!!!!!!

Contest Open to All Reborners

How would you like to have a baby you reborned featured at IDEX in Orlando?

Compete for a chance to reborn artist a mystery prototype baby sculpted by me, DAWN DONOFRIO. This new kit baby will make its debut at IDEX in January, 2010.

To Enter:

Submit no more than three photos each of your best three reborns for consideration, along with your name and nursery name to dawn@dawndonofrio.com

Winner will be chosen by Dawn, based on skill, level of realism and skin tone. Contest Deadline for submissions: November 15, 2009

Rules: Photos submitted must depict the work of the entrant. Photos may not be retouched.

The prototype baby of the winner(s) will be displayed at the table of Dawn Donofrio (No. 39) along with your business cards at IDEX Premiere in Orlando, Fla., January 2010.

In addition, photos of your prototype along with your photos and logo could be used in advertisements. Winner will also receive one additional kit. Winner must agree not to reveal photos or details about the new kit until IDEX

Winner also:

Agrees to collaborate with the sculptor on a vision for this prototype.

Agrees to complete the doll in a timely manner,

Agrees to share photos with Dawn for advertising purposes.

Agrees to ship the completed doll to Dawn at your expense for display at IDEX. Doll will be shipped back to you at my expense along with your free kit after IDEX.

Additioanl NOTE: There will be more than one prototype of the mystery kit at my table. I feel that it is always a good idea to show more than one example of how a kit baby can look. This contest is meant to give a chance to someone new to show their skills at reborning at a major doll show, in addition to being a fun way to advertise my new kit. I look forward to seeing your best babies and choosing a winner!
